Moose Pt. 4

Welcome Back! 

I hope you all aren't getting bored with the moose shots! I dread saying the M word, but then I start looking at my photos and I have to show SOMEONE! I don't think my immediate family have seen all of them...They usually check out my blog too!

This was a young moose that we happened across on Sunday night, after dinner out in Huntsville! I suggested going moose hunting after dinner and lo and behold we saw all kinds of them. This was one of the first. I think we saw some big guys around this same time too, but they were hiding behind trees, bushes, etc, so although we saw some with big antlers, I didn't get any good shots. :-(

Anyway, I had a busy but short week this week..I'm off til Tuesday! Next weekend, I'll have a short weekend as I have to travel to Oneida to teach some computer courses for the whole week. I'll be back to work for a week, then our  holidays start! Yeah! We are heading down East again..are you surprised? :-) Anyway, instead of Grand Manan in New Brunswick, we are going to a cottage in Hubbards, Nova Scotia!

Moose Pt. 3

Welcome Back!

This week I have the last of the photos of THIS moose! I have included various head shots of this cute fellow and a couple of him leaving the scene. He actually went for a little swim as well, but the photos aren't all that flattering..they just look like he's lying down or struggling to get up, so I'll save you from them!

I was going to take a break from MORE moose shots next week, but I have too many cute ones that I want to share, so guess what's on the agenda for next week---MOOSE!

Well, this is a short work-week for me, which I'm extremely happy about. I had to teach a couple of classes this week and although they were only 1/2 day ones, I'm totally wiped out...Allergy headaches this week too..SIGH.

This week I also started an online course to learn how to use the SMART Board and actually used it during my classes this week too..So exciting, but I still have a lot to learn! So, guess what I'll be doing on my days off? :-D

Moose Pt. 2

This week I'm back with yet MORE moose shots!These are a continuation of the second moose that we saw on the Saturday. 

His ears are down in the first shot as I think he was getting perturbed at everyone taking photos of him....there were likely 30 or more people out watching, photographing  and videotaping. Kevin was taking some videos and photos with his iphone, but then the moose looked his way and he was gone..back to the van! I was left standing there talking to myself..which was fine with me.....because then I could take my time and take as many photos as I wanted! :-)

Anyway, I'll keep this short as I'm suffering from an annoying headache...I took some Tylenol and a short nap earlier, but nothing seems to be working...SIGH!

The Algonquin Moose, Pt 1

Welcome Back!

This week I'm starting my tour of the moose we saw in Algonquin and so be prepared for a few weeks of just MOOSE! I have narrowed down my list to 102 or so that I love and that I want to highlight....in between, I might show something else just to give you all a break from them!

The first 4 shots are of the first moose we laid eyes on and this was about 10 am, along highway 60, after we had hiked a couple of trails. He didn't stick around long, so I didn't get as many good shots of him as I would have liked...if I had my way, I would have followed him into the woods, but probably not a good idea! :-)

The last 4 shots are of the second moose, who stuck around a lot longer, so I have a lot more photos of him/her. So, next week's shots will likely all be of this moose! 

Well, after a great week in Oneida, I managed to have a couple of days off...for more travelling! The girls and I went to Watertown for the day on Saturday..it was a good day, even though we didn't buy too much... Good thing I love to travel!

On Monday, my friend, Melissa and I had planned  a day to head to the Toronto Zoo...luckily the weather cooperated and we had an awesome day. Got some good photos...some of the white lions, which were new to the zoo and some of the infamous Giant Pandas, who were actually quite active while we were there. We managed to stay until almost closing time (7pm)!
