The Little, Red Fox!

Welcome Back!

Can you believe 2 posts in 1 week? We decided to leave a couple of days early for our holiday, so I thought I'd try to post before we left. Tonight, I happen to be backing up photos, so while I'm waiting, I thought I'd update the blog---Exciting stuff for a Friday night, right?

Anyway, to give you all (and myself) a break from the moose photos, tonight I am highlighting some photos of a friendly red fox. I did get out of the van to take his picture, but then he came right over and with him being soooo friendly, I got back in the van and shot him from the van! I didn't want to get rabies, but he does seem really healthy, nice fur, etc...so maybe he was just hungry!

Anyway, some of these photos are not the greatest..you can tell when the flash went off..his eyes look a little alienish. (is that a word?) But it was probably going on to 9 when these were taken. I didn't have my tripod with me, which would have resulted in better shots, but by the time I'd get it set up, he would have been long gone anyway!

He didn't stick around too, too long, as we didn't feed him and again, a lot of cars were stopping to see him too!

So, tomorrow we are packing and then heading out Sunday...Hopefully get through Quebec on Sunday and stay in Edmunston or Grand Falls, NB for the night and then who knows where we'll end up after that. We check into our cottage on the 23rd, so we'll have a day or so to find something to do!

Have a great couple of weeks!

Moose, Part 7

Welcome Back!

This week I have yet MORE moose...sorry, I'll be through them all soon, I promise..only a couple more weeks! :-)

This is the mother and young one again that I started to highlight last week. These shots are mostly the youngster. You could tell when he was sniffing out Zeek..his nose was pointing in our direction!

Also, a shot of him having a drink/nuzzle with mom and then they started heading back into the bush.

I think I'll highlight some fox shots next time, taken on our way back from seeing these guys. I think I have another moose to highlight as well, but the photos were kind of dark as it was starting to get late, so I'll see if any are worth highlighting!

Well, our holidays are almost upon us...We are heading EAST next week...we may leave a bit early than we had originally planned, as we have the time! So I'm not sure if I'll have a post before we leave or not.

But, I'm sure I'll be posting photos of our adventures on Facebook!

Have a great week!

Moose Part 6

Welcome Back!

This week I'm highlighting the photos of the mother and young moose we saw on Sunday night in Algonquin Park.

The mother did not come close at all, but the young one came fairly close. We didn't even have to get out of the van!

They were both pretty cute and stuck around for awhile so I got a FEW good shots. I'll likely have more next week of these two!

Well, things are going well here in Oneida! Pretty quiet..time to get caught up on my Criminal Minds DVDs!

Have a great week!

Moose Part 5

This week I'm highlighting another young moose. This one was near the float plane dock. I can't remember what lake it is on..I have the map somewhere (probably in the van)!

Anyway, this youngster was watching everyone who stopped to watch him/her. It then wandered down to the water and got in to about it's knees and then got out again (maybe it was too cold!)

She/he headed around everyone and went across the road and into the forest! She/he was very cute and there were a quite a few people stopping to watch!

Next week I'll be in Oneida, but plan on updating from there! I'll be highlighting some mom/youngster pics..The baby was about the same size as this one (last year's model) and mom was nearby keeping an eye on him/her.

Have a great week!
