Welcome Back!

This week I have more of the critters found at the beginning of Bird Kingdom displays...some of these you can even touch as you can see from the 2nd and 3rd photos. Kevin was petting the bearded dragon and he seemed to like it! :-)

Other photos include a white cockatoo and a eclectus parrot, who is so very colourful! 

Well, another fast week at work, which is good I guess! I love the variety of the job as well as working with all that crafty goodness! :-) The only downside of working there is that I don't get very many days off this holiday season as in past jobs..but I like the job, so I don't mind it all that much! :-)

We are heading to get Brooke in Waterloo tomorrow, so I'm posting a day early. She will be home for a couple of weeks and Kevin is off too for a couple of weeks. Keturah and I will be the ones working through the holidays! 

Anyway, I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, as I won't likely post until after the holidays. We are hoping to get to Ottawa for a visit at some point too!

Bird Kingdom, Pt. 2

 Welcome Back!

This time I have some other creatures to highlight. These are found on the first floor of the Bird Kingdom...Just to warm you up before you go into the bird aviaries.

You will find below: tortoises, bearded dragons, a lizard of some sort and a burmese python pile. I'm glad it was sleeping, as I hate to watch them slither around! :-)

This week went by quickly as they all seem to! I worked in the store a bit and also helped get displays ready for their trip to California to the big CHA show in January. I will be teaching some classes in January too! I hope people sign up for them! :-) 

This weekend was spent Xmas shopping, visiting friends at the Lazy Gardener and at an Epicure Open House too! Today we finally decked our halls, here at the Maracle Homestead. I should say, Keturah did. I've been busy getting my cards ready to mail out and doing laundry and cooking a nice dinner and doing some paperwork for SMaracle Designs! Fun stuff!

Welcome Back!

This week I'm highlighting some pretty birds...These guys were found at the entrance to the Bird Kingdom Attraction in Niagara Falls. This is one place we always return to when we go to Niagara Falls...it is usually so relaxing, you can sit and watch the birds for hours. They even have a little cafe in the midst of the big aviary, where we usually partake of some kind of beverage too! 

I'll have lots more in the coming weeks, but these are a green-winged macaw and a blue and gold macaw. I'll let you figure out which is which! :-)

This week went fairly quickly again and was quiet, especially after the craziness of Black Friday! I've been getting some shopping done and working on some Xmas tags too when I'm home...I stayed home all day yesterday because I have a stupid cold and am trying to shake it, but it got the best of me yesterday, so I didn't even go outside. Today, we made up for it with our usual grocery shopping, a trip to Kingston for some Xmas shopping and ice cream too! Just finishing up my laundry and then off to bed...Nyquil has been my best friend this week! :-)

Welcome Back!

This time I have more photos of the falls, the USA Falls and some scenes from the falls. There were a lot of people there, probably because it was March Break!

This week was crazy busy with Black Friday sale stuff, so that made the week fly by. Well, I survived my first BF sale! We had free make and takes in the classroom, which I helped out with too---love the variety of this job!

Worked for 4 hours yesterday and then had a nap when I got home...I'm fighting a cold, so have had a headache and sore throat! We managed to get in a walk around the boardwalk around suppertime..boy, it sure gets dark early!

Today, I got to visit with my buddies Lynn and Melissa, who I haven't seen since summer, so it was nice to catch up and do some Xmas shopping at The Lazy Gardener Christmas Shop! Finishing off the weekend with groceries and laundry--the fun stuff!

Welcome Back!

This week I have some more of the top of the falls shots and various views from there. Can you believe the colour of the water below? A very pretty blue/green! 

Last week was crazy busy at work as we are getting ready for our Black Friday sale this coming week. So lot's of picture taking, editing and poster-making! Lots of fun though. I also started working in the retail store to cover lunch breaks, so that was fun. Still lots to learn!

Had a quiet weekend, but got to finally have a nice lunch with my school-buddy Tracy today, so that was fun!

A Wintery Niagara Falls

Welcome back!

This week I'm starting to highlight photos from our trip to Niagara Falls back in March, on the March Break. This is the first year in awhile that we didn't go to Myrtle Beach and yes, I missed going oh so much! It's kinda nice to have that sun beating on you, after a long cold winter! These are pics of the falls, mostly from the very top of the falls, as we worked our way down. We managed to walk all the way down, up Clifton Hill and back down to the parking area..whew, I was sore afterwards! :-)

This week went speeding by again. Loving the new job and all the exciting stuff I get to do! 

Yesterday we headed to Waterloo to visit Brookie. We went to the St. Jacob's Farmer's Market and bought some veggies and lunch. We also went to the Mall and got Brooke some winter boots, so she's all set! Then we headed to Walmart to stock her up with some groceries. We had a nice dinner at Symposium Cafe and headed home. Got home by 11pm, but it was a long day! Today is groceries, laundry and finishing the trim(Kevin)! Fun stuff!

Great Blue Heron, Pt. 3

Welcome Back!

This week I'm highlighting the last of the great blue heron pics. These were taken way back in August of 2014 on one of our many walks around the river and waterfall area of the Napanee Conservation Park.

This week has gone by so fast...time flies when you are having fun! The job is still going great and I love being busy and doing work that I love!

Keturah got hired on at the OnRoute again and will be working at Tim Hortons. Too bad she works til 11pm, or she could bring me one home everyday, like Brooke did in the summer! :-)

This weekend, we didn't do too much. I spent Saturday off and on in the craft room, working on Christmas cards... Kevin is replacing the flooring in the living room, so I've been trying to stay out of his way! Today, is the usual: groceries, laundry, cleaning and a nice walk at the park too!

Welcome Back!

This week, I'm highlighting more photos of the Great Blue Heron that we see at the Napanee Conservation Park. I'll have one more week of this guy before I highlight something new.

Work is going very well. Still busy and lots of fun!

Keturah moved home from Ottawa this week as she was homesick. :-( She will hopefully try to get into St. Lawrence at some point this year and/or a job to keep busy. Went for a lovely walk yesterday, after attending a craft class at work! Yep, I'm there 6 days/week! :-)

Enjoying my extra hour today with extra craft time and laundry, cleaning, etc!

Great Blue Heron

Welcome Back!

This week I'm highlighting one of my favourite birds, the Great Blue Heron, or as we affectionately call it, The Heron! We see him (her?) every summer from about May til November. His favourite place is at the bottom of the waterfall at the Napanee Conservation Park. He does some of his best fishing there. We've seen him catch several small fish and even a snake-like thing..possibly a small eel. It was kind of gross to be honest! :-)

We walk around the boardwalk at this park a few times a week and this month, they were fishing for salmon, so we saw some guys catch two of them in the span of 5 minutes during yesterday's walk. Pretty cool!

This was another fast week! Work is going great and is lots of fun and it's keeping me really busy!

Keturah came home again this weekend, so we hung out with her and the boyfriend yesterday for a walk at the park and the mall and then dinner at The Works, for the best veggie burgers in town! Well, Keturah and me, anyway! :-)

Today is groceries, laundry and housework fun (not)!
