1st pic-the Blue-Crowned Motmot - a close-up this time

2nd pic-a Snake-not sure what kind as I didn't want to spend hours looking at various snakes on the Zoo website or I'd have nightmares about snakes! :-)

3rd-A cute Sloth

4th-Green Anemone (shot thru glass)

5th-American Alligator

6th-Skinks

7th & 8th-A Bearded Dragon

Welcome back!

This week I have a variety of different critters from the Toronto Zoo.

First up, is the Grevy's Zebra. I highlighted him a bit last week, but he was kind of hidden behind trees, etc...so here's his whole body! :-)

Next three pics are of the African Lion...just lazying about on a sunny day! I can't blame him!

Next pic is that of the African Penguins. They were not on display, but I got this pic of them being rounded up for something in the back of their enclosure...They are still so cute!

Next two pics are of the Scarlet Ibis...such a pretty bird! I love his long beak too!

Last pic is of a Blue-crowned Motmot...Another very colourful bird.

Welcome Back!

This week I have a few more pics from the African Savanna area of the Toronto Zoo, including some greenery..not sure what the first one is called, but I believe the other two are wild roses...I remember the scent of them! :-)

Animals, this week, include a couple of the Grevy's Zebra, who was being kind of shy. I have better pics of this one which I'll highlight next week. Also, some pics of the Olive Baboon..I love watching these guys...they remind me of little kids, always picking on each other and rolling around on the ground, even down hills...too cute!

Welcome back and Happy New Year! I can't believe we are in 2018 already..time flies when you are having fun, I guess!

We enjoyed our time visiting family in Ontario, but it sure was cold there as well as a ton of snow, which we were lucky enough to drive thru...I say that sarcastically! :-)

Anyway, we are now home and relaxing a bit before we are back to work...

Here are some different animals this time, some wild, some not so...

The first three pics are of the Greater Kudu, who is found in the African Savanna area. The next pic and the only good one I got is of the River Hippopotamus who is also from Africa. The rest of the pics are of a Canadian Goose family and its various members, who were out enjoying the sun with a swim through one of the water areas. Too cute not to take a couple of pics, right?
